System Requirements
Web-Sequitur and Web-Rhubarb
are 32-bit Windows applications. This means that
they will run on any computer running Windows
98, NT4, 2000, or XP.
The TexToys v3 programs occupy
less than 3Mb disc space in total, and do not
have any particular memory requirements - if you
can run any of the Windows versions listed above,
you can run Web-Sequitur and Web-Rhubarb.
The TexToys program works with Windows Vista, but please
see our Vista and Help Files page for information about viewing the TexToys Help file in Windows Vista.
The web-page exercises which
you create using WebSequitur and WebRhubarb can
be exported as standards-compliant XHTML 1.1 web
pages. To work correctly, the exercises must be
viewed using a browser which complies with this
standard.
Compatible browser versions
include:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 for Windows
- Mozilla v1.7
- Netscape 7
- Firefox 1.0
- Safari
- Opera 7.5
Higher version numbers for these browsers should
also work.
We recommend that you regularly
download and install the latest version of your
preferred web browser program, both for compliance
with the latest standards, and for your own computer
security.
TexToys supports Unicode, the
universal script and character system which provides
typing and display of any character from any language.
Please note that in order to use the Unicode features
in TexToys, you need to be using a version of
Windows which supports Unicode (Windows 2000 or
XP), and a recent version of Internet Explorer,
Netscape, Mozilla, or other Unicode-compatible
browser. You may also need to have a Unicode font
installed.
Likewise your student must be
using a unicode-compatible browser and operating
system, equipped with a suitable font for the
languages you want to use.
For more information about Unicode,
please see www.unicode.org.
If you wish to use our hosting
service at hotpotatoes.net, you will need a working
internet connection in order to upload your TexToys
exercises to our server.
