Software For Teaching

Our Teaching software area features programs written by Martin Holmes, an experienced teacher and programmer from Victoria in Canada. If you would like to find out more about his work, visit his home page at the University of Victoria.

Markin v3
- a program which replaces the traditional teacher's red pen with a complete on-screen marking environment.

Markin v3 is now available in different languages!

STOP PRESS! Markin v4 is new for 2009 - it supports full unicode and uses XML file formats for cross-platform compatibility and interoperability.

TexToys - a suite of two authoring programs which allow teachers to produce on-screen learning exercises. These exercises can then be delivered to the student as interactive web pages, and can also be uploaded to the hotpotatoes.net hosting and results service.

hotpotatoes.net is not a program, but a hosting service we provide for users of TexToys (see above), and of Halfbaked Software's Hot Potatoes authoring suite.
