The ProScribe Script Fonts
The CDROM includes the following
fonts, provided in Truetype format for Windows,
and Postscript Type 1 format for Macintosh:

Coran is a "half-uncial" script,
based on the those used in Lindisfarne and the
surrounding area in north-east England, around
the tenth century. It is called "half-uncial"
because the letters use "ascenders"
and "descenders", which protrude above
and below the line, unlike earlier "uncial"
scripts.

Coran Bold is a true bold version of Coran,
provided because it is slighly more authentic
than the lighter version, but slightly less legible!

Duncan is a "lesser illuminated"
font, supplied as two designs withing one font.
The lower-case characters are
as shown in the illustration above, while the
upper-case characters in the Duncan font have
a dotted outline called "rubrication",
which scribes used for extra decoration.

Jenner is a more modern Gaelic-style
font, often used in Irish designs.

Sean is a tall, straight, almost runic
design, also used for "lesser illuminated"
sections of text.
