Now! 1
The
Maths Now! 1 CD-ROM is designed to accompany the
Maths Now! 1, Red and Blue Orbit textbook, but
it can also be used by students pupils without
reference to the textbook.
The software allows for
unlimited interactive practice of National Curriculum
concepts. As students improve their skills, the
time interval between questions can be reduced.
Students should aim to get 20 consecutive questions
correct at each time level before reducing the
time intervals. When 20 consecutive questions
have been answered correctly a certificate showing
the student's name can be printed out; the teacher
can then sign the certificate to keep track of
the student's progress.
It is suggested
that students spend no more than 20 minutes using
the Maths Now! 1 software in any one session.
The material in the 'Sequences' chapter can be
displayed to a group via a data projector, and
provides opportunity for plenty of classroom discussion.
