hotpotatoes.net - a Learning Environment

In addition to being an easy-to-use hosting service, hotpotatoes.net also has facilities which allow you to control access to the materials you upload, via the use of Student Accounts. You can allow anyone to access your pages if you wish, but you do not have to. And to collect exercise results from your students, you must create student accounts for them.

You can do this very simply in the hotpotatoes.net Account Administration area, which teachers access through the main login page. You simply have to enter a name and an email address for the student. You can also group student accounts by dividing them into classes - any of your students can be a member of any or all the classes you create.

Once you have created a student account, the student can log in, and see a list of the Pages you have uploaded. Students see only the Pages which you allocated to the Class(es) they are in.

The number of student accounts you can create depends on the type of subscription you have - some examples are:
