Terms & Conditions

Creative Technology web-shops are based in the UK, and operate under the jurisdiction of English law. Our obligations in our dealings with customers fall within the scope of the Sale of Goods Act and the Distance Selling Act, and comply with English and European comsumer protection legislation.

Our terms and conditions of sale do not affect your statutory rights.

For software products registered online, we guarantee to respond to your order within 5 working days of receiving it. Orders are normally processed within two working days.

For products supplied by mail-order, we guarantee that your goods will be delivered within 28 days. Normally goods will be shipped within 2 working days of receiving your order - if we are unable to despatch your order within 10 working days of receiving it, we will inform you of the reasons for the delay, and offer the option to cancel the order.

Please note that our charges are made in Pounds Sterling. The prices displayed on our pages in other currencies are approximate, and provided for information only. If you use our online ordering system, you will be charged in pounds, and the exact amount charged in your local currency depends on the exchange rates used by your credit card company at the time when they process the transaction. We have no control over this.

However, we update our exchange rates every week, and we guarantee that the prices we display are accurate to within 5%.

If you would like to receive an invoice in your local currency, we can sometimes arrange this for a small extra charge - please contact us by email for more information.

If you are located in a European Community country, you will automatically be charged VAT at 17.5% on all purchases. If you are an EC-based customer and you wish to purchase VAT-free (by giving us your own VAT registration number), please contact us by email.

Customers outside the EC will not be charged any extra taxes by us, but we cannot guarantee that you will not have to pay local or state taxes on goods received by post.

We are normally happy to accept payment by bank transfer. Please contact us by email if you wish to pay by bank transfer.

When paying by bank transfer, please ensure that all transaction costs are paid by you, so that the full amount stated on the invoice is credited to our account. If we do not receive the full invoice amount, we will be unable to fulfil your order.

Cheque payments are welcome. If you wish to pay using a cheque made out in UK Pounds, there is no extra charge. But if you wish to pay using a cheque in a different currency, we may need to make a small charge to cover the cost of processing the cheque.

For softare licence sales such as Markin and Textoys, where you can use a full demonstration version of the program before purchasing, we do not normally allow refunds. Please evaluate these programs thoroughly before purchase, to ensure that the program is suitable for your needs.

For programs and products which cannot be fully evaluated before purchase, you may have a statutory right to a refund if the product is not suitable for your needs. However, this right only applies if we have supplied the wrong product, or given you misleading information which led you to purchase the product in error, or if the product we supply is faulty. We guarantee that any information we provide is accurate, and you can return your purchase for a full refund in any case where inaccurate information is given, or a faulty product was supplied.

For software supplied by post, on disc or CDROM format, under the terms of the Consumer Credit Act (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you are entitled to cancel your order at any time within 7 days of receiving your goods.

If you wish to cancel an order under these terms, you must return your software package unopened within 7 days of receiving it, at your own cost. We will then refund the initial sale price.
