Bespoke Software Development

We have been developing commercial software for over a decade, and some degree of programming is almost always a key component of our consultancy contracts. Development can take many forms, but here are a few examples of the programming services we can offer:

Data Management utilities, either creating database applications from scratch, or configuring and adding new features to off-the-shelf databases such as Microsoft Access.

Web Server programming, using ASP, CGI, PHP, SQL databases and other server-based technologies to create and manage data over network, intranet or worldwide web links. For more information, see our Website Design examples page, and our Intranet page.

Client-side programming, using Javascript and DHTML to add interactivity and functionality to web and intranet pages. You can see examples all over this site, particularly in our online shopping system - this is unusual in that it uses server-side code only for the very last step of handling the secure server payment form. The rest of the system, including the shopping basket, the catalogue page display and the transfer of information between insecure and secure servers, is built entirely in client-side Javascript.

Customised Windows Screensavers - one corporate client asked us to animate their "core values" mission statement into a screensaver, to help instil its message into their employees. We have since produced other, less serious screensavers for our own and other peoples' amusement!
